I have the great pleasure of announcing that our firm has brought in two very exciting attorneys to be “of counsel” with our firm and one newly licensed attorney. These three attorneys bring practice strengths that are highly complementary and will enable us to provide a new and broader set of services to you.
Robert Turbow, M.D. J.D. is a board-certified pediatrician and neonatologist with over 25 years of clinical experience. He is a member of the California Bar and has been admitted to the United States Court of Federal Claims. Dr. Turbow’s legal focus is on professional license defense, medical staff peer review matters, staff privilege defense, medical malpractice defense and contract review.
Timothy O’Hara is a seasoned practitioner who’s education includes a J.D., an MSL in Environmental law, an MA in biology, and he is a licensed California broker. Attorney O’Hara brings broad experience to our firm that includes sixteen years as an administrative law judge for the state of California. His skill set complements and broadens the firm’s scope of services. His skills in contract review, medical practice sale, dissolution and mergers, entity formation, and commercial real estate sales and purchases will allow our clients to receive expert representation not just for all their licensing and practice needs, but more peripheral needs that will be encountered by those practicing in the medical arena.
I am proud and excited to introduce Meghan Shiner, our newest associate. Meghan is graced with a sharp mind and is on her way to becoming a top-notch attorney. Her writing abilities bring strong written advocacy skills to the firm. While in law school she worked for a firm that specialized in nursing license defense and externed with the Office of Administrative Hearings, where she assisted the administrative law judges by penning proposed decisions thus becoming familiar with the procedural and substantive aspects of the hearings from the judge’s perspective. She is fast becoming an integral part of Marvin Firestone, MD JD & Associates, LLP.
Since I founded this practice in 1982, and brought my son Michael on in 2008, Marvin Firestone, MD JD & Associates, LLP, has become one of California’s preeminent medical licensing defense, medical staff privilege and peer review hearing firms and a major player in the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program. Adding practices in entity formation, contract review, practice purchase, sale, merger and dissolution and commercial real estate due diligence and representation, will be a boon to our clients.
Our expanded practice areas give us a proactive ability to serve our past and future clients by assisting in important entity choice and formation, practice purchases/sales/mergers and dissolution and many other aspects of your medical practice that requires skilled guidance. We are here to help you through any complicated transaction where legal assistance is warranted. With the addition of our Pismo Beach office, our ability to and the convenience of engaging directly with our central coast, central valley, and southern California clients is expanded and enhanced.
We hope you will join us in celebrating this major milestone as it provides a tremendously exciting opportunity for you, our clients, and ourselves. We look forward to bringing to you a broad range of expertise and an unmatched quality of professional service.
